Two Thoughts For Tuesday

This week, I want to talk about two things that annoy me - maybe about celebrities, maybe not. Read on to find out what I'm thinking.

First of all, what's your first thought about that picture of Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher?  That there's just too much PDA going on there?  Maybe...but my first thought is how annoying to see someone (here it's Mila Kunis) who is sooooo attracted to this guy (Ashton Kutcher) but he obviously cares way more about his cell phone than paying attention to the person he's with.  I think that's rude and insulting - and Mila Kunis is short-changing herself by sticking around with a guy like that.

OMG! RobSten is on the Rocks!

OMG!  Twilight Fans are not liking this latest news at all.  I hear some fans are really outraged with Kristen for this alleged cheating on Rob!  What's fueling the fire is that there are actually pictures of her with the guy - her SWATH director!  (Click the read more link to see more pictures!!!)

My Pick for Christian Grey

I just started reading Fifty Shades of Grey...and so far, I agree that it deserves the attention it's been getting! It is very well-written...explicit, yes, but it proves itself true to the genre of erotic fiction. You can practically visualize the characters in their places, with every movement, see their facial expressions, and hear every thought that comes to their minds, especially Anastasia's.

Waiting for Breaking Dawn Part Two

Just wondering...are all the Twilighters still anxiously awaiting Breaking Dawn Part Two?  It seems like forever until November gets here!

The Hunger Games book

Last night, I finished reading Suzanne Collins's 1st book of The Hunger Games trilogy. This first book, The Hunger Games, was released in September 2008, followed the next year by Catching Fire (The Second Book of the Hunger Games), and later, of course, by Mockingjay (The Hunger Games, Book 3). These were best-sellers in the Young Adult (ages 12 to adult) fiction category...the same category as other best-sellers like The Twilight Saga and The Vampire Diaries , which have also been dramatized on-screen.

Breaking Dawn Movie Review

No spoilers here (at least I will try not to have any)! I just thought I'd share a little bit of what I thought about The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn (part 1).  I watched it last night (one week after the movie originally debuted in US movie theaters). If I had to describe it in one word, I'd have to use the acronym "OMG!" Seriously, the movie was more intense than I had anticipated.

Sure, there were a lot of romantic scenes at the beginning, during the wedding, and during the honeymoon. But if you came to the movies to see a lot of romance between Bella and Edward, you would probably only be satisfied the first day of the honeymoon. After that, the drama begins.

Christina Perri Does It Again

I love Christina Perri...and I love the fact that she was chosen to write a song for the Breaking Dawn Part 1 soundtrack. She is so talented and soulful. Her music can really touch you and grab your emotions. Remember her big hit "Jar of Hearts"? The song she wrote for Breaking Dawn is just as expressive and meaningful. Check it out here:

Two Movies I Am Looking Forward To Watching

This is the week!!! Breaking Dawn Part 1 is coming out in movie theaters and I can't wait!!! Bella and Edward are going to be married but the story is just going to get much more complicated and dramatic, especially when an unexpected pregnancy draws Bella closer to Jacob instead of to her new husband, the vampire Edward.

Countdown to Breaking Dawn

The countdown clock is ticking and it's less than a week now before we officially get to see Breaking Dawn on the big screen. I am sooooooo excited!!! In a way, following the Twilight Saga is either like watching your friends grow up through high school and beyond. You go through their struggles and feel like you've been there with them. You just wanna know what they do next and hope everything works out. Or, it's like watching your kids grow up and have to make those very difficult life-changing decisions. What to do, what to do?!!!

Two Thoughts on Tuesday

As we get closer to the release of Twilight's Breaking Dawn and with lots of Hollywood talk surrounding the upcoming Snow White and the Huntsman movie, I was thinking about Kirsten Stewart today. She stars in both of those movies.

Two Thoughts - Two Weddings

I have two thoughts to share this Tuesday on Blogdumps' Top Sites Tuesday. Those two thoughts are about the two most anticipated weddings of 2011.

You know how it seems everyone in the world was obsessed with the on and off relationship between Prince William and Kate Middleton for years.  Ever since they met, the world was following them through the eyes of the photographers that followed them around.  Then this year, they finally tied the knot and England has a new princess!

What If Shiloh Were Edward?

Just a couple weeks ago, it was revealed to Twilight fans that Shiloh Fernandez (Peter in 2011's Red Riding Hood) nearly got the part of Edward Cullen in the Twilight Saga movies. So it got me wondering, what if...?

LOL...just thinking!

The Twilight Dad and the IRS

I guess I haven't been keeping up with the Cullen's lately. I didn't realize Carlisle Cullen was having tax time issues until I came across this video in my search for Twilight pictures...

The Twilight Widower - My Orphaned Blog Pick

I love reading other blogs and learning to see things from other people's perspectives.  In my search for good blogs to read, I've come across many interesting ones that I have followed only to later find that they've become "orphaned", never to be updated again.

One blog I started following only to be left hanging (along with 564 Google Followers and  631 RSS Feed subscribers) in June 2009 was this unique Twilight blog.  Do you know how many hundreds of Twilight blogs there are out there?  A LOT!!!  But there was this one in particular that I found which caught my attention because it was written from the perspective of a Twilight fan's husband.  Unlike so many Twilight blogs that focus on the giddy, ogling, obsessive, hyperexcited fan's point of view, this blog poked fun at what it was like to be the "forgotten other half" and I thought it was just so cool and humorous!

This orphaned blog is called Twilight Widowers Anonymous because it details the life and feelings of a husband left behind while his wife joins the many Twilight fanatics who can't get enough vampires in their lives. In fact, its subtitle says it is "A support site for husbands, boyfriends, and life partners of Twilight Addicts. We're all in this together."  Pretty funny, wouldn't you agree?

I hope the Twilight Widower hasn't thrown his Twilight blog in the trash.  I'm sure the hundreds of followers he collected along the way would love to know what life has been like since New Moon was released. Where can all his supporters and fellow Twilight widowers go to share their comments and seek support in light of more Twilight movies in the works?  I think the forgotten Twilight spouses and significant others need you back!!!

Removed Video

Billy Burke (aka Charlie Swan of The Twilight Saga) has released a video for his upcoming single, "Removed".  It's quite interesting to see him perform in a light much different from his movie roles, particularly after seeing him perform as the father of a wannabe vampire, Bella Swan.

Maybe Summit ought to consider including one of Billy Burke's songs on a soundtrack for the Twilight Saga.  Parts of this song would make good background music for a scene with Bella at home with her dad, or maybe for a scene where the characters are walking through the woods.  Hmmm...

Twilight Dad Sings!

Did you know that Billy Burke (who plays Charlie Swan - Bella's father - in the Twilight Saga movies) recorded a music album?  The album is still in pre-release stage right now (scheduled for release in June 2010), but one of the unmastered songs is being made available as a free download through The Billy Burke website.

I downloaded my copy already but rather than post it here, I thought I'd help spread the word about Billy Burke's great new website and let my readers get their own copy directly from the site themselves.  It's free with no strings attached!  And there's tons of fan material you can enjoy on his website.

In case you didn't know, Billy Burke originally made his way to Los Angeles as a musician, hoping to make it big in the music industry. Instead, he had better luck finding in roles in movies such as the Zucker Brothers' genre spoof JANE AUSTEN'S MAFIA.  He landed many other minor roles in movies and television, including a well-remembered role as an abusive father and husband named Gary Matheson in the hit TV series 24.  Years later, he was cast in LADDER 49 alongside John Travolta and Joaquin Phoenix.

Yes, yes! Bella Swan may never know how truly talented her police chief Dad is in real life but YOU can.  Go visit BillyBurke.net now and find out for yourself!  Trust me, you'll be glad you found out from me...

Two Tuesday Twilight Thoughts

In anticipation of the third installment of the Twilight Saga movies, Eclipse, I rewatched the first movie, Twilight, and the second one, New Moon. I have to admit, if I were a serious movie critic, I couldn't say that these movies are the greatest of vampire stories. What IS great is that they have a very modern feel to them such that they have become somewhat of a cultural phenomena. Besides that, how many vampire movies out there have actually captured the hearts of both mothers and their daughters at the same time? It's also kind of interesting - perhaps even entertaining - to read the many blogs written by all these fans, young and old alike. There were even people who had countdown clocks waiting for Taylor Lautner to turn 18 in real life because they felt such a guilty pleasure about swooning over an underaged actor who bulked up his muscles to be able to play a very muscular Jacob Black. And bulk up he did!

Unlike I did before watching the first two movies, I have not yet finished reading Eclipse. I got about three quarters of the way and decided that I'm going to leave myself with the element of surprise. I am going to watch the third movie without knowing what Stephenie Meyer wrote it was going to be like.

I came across the sneak peak of the upcoming movie, however, and WOW! It's amazing how every director makes each book come to life in a very different way! Director Catherine Hardwicke took on a somewhat feminine, romanticized approach to the storyline of the first movie - allowing a "vampire" movie to be "tame" enough for parents not to worry about letting their teenaged daughters see, yet at the same time, bringing on an element that made husbands worry about their wives going to see. Then director Chris Weitz brought in more action to the New Moon movie, creating an element with the Volturi scenes and the wolf scenes that drew the attention of action-thirsty male moviegoers. And now, director David Slade appears to have taken a harder line to it and made Eclipse a very intense movie with just as much fighting and action as there is the hormonal tension of the Edward-Bella-Jacob love triangle. See for yourself:

Okay, so that's a little more than two simple thoughts. Whoever said that a dreamer like Liggy can keep things simple? Teehee...

Happy Birthday, Taylor!

The almost 18 Taylor.

I saw a lot of posts on entertainment sites and blogs that the countdown to 18 ends today...Taylor Lautner is 18 now! Teehee...I hear a lot of Team Jacob moms are thrilled.

The very young actor, Taylor.  Remember him from Shark Boy and Lava Girl?

I enjoyed reading the Twilight books and enjoyed the two movies made from the series so far, but it sure has been quite amusing to read the many funny posts I kept finding about this wait for Taylor Lautner to reach a "legal" age.  I even found this picture somewhere and thought it was just so hilarious:

Anyway, Happy Birthday, Taylor Lautner!!!  I'm sure you'll be getting a lot more fan mail from a lot of female fans that were just holding out until this day...LOL!
