Two Thoughts on Tuesday

As we get closer to the release of Twilight's Breaking Dawn and with lots of Hollywood talk surrounding the upcoming Snow White and the Huntsman movie, I was thinking about Kirsten Stewart today. She stars in both of those movies.

Mixed Feelings about the New Moon Movie

Wow...I'm having mixed feelings about New Moon (book Two of the Twilight Saga) now. On one hand, I can't wait to see the movie because I know it's going to be much more exciting than the first movie (Twilight the Movie).

On the other hand, I saw this video today of a sneak peek taken at the recent Comic Con event. While the scene makes me even more anxious to see the movie (Jacob is just so sweet! I want my son to be just like him!), I don't know if I want to watch it with all that screaming in the theatre! I can't even stand it when someone cannot keep their feet from tapping at the back of my seat.

Maybe I should just wait for the DVD to come out instead?

Quick look at the New Moon movie stills

I hope that those who read my blog for the music posts don't get tired of me posting about the Twilight Saga, but it's just such a popular topic right now (plus I'm a huge fan myself) that I wanted to share some New Moon movie stills that I came across today.

Twilighters Anonymous (see mini-banner link on the I Recommend section of my right column) posted some movie stills from the recently released movie trailer. The pictures are pretty cool! I felt quite surprised to see how the still picture differed so much from what I remember seeing in the trailer. I guess because the trailer seemed to move so quickly that the details just escaped me (no matter how many million times I feel like I watched it). For instance, I really didn't recognize this picture of Jacob Black showing those muscles (thus making a lot of women wish Taylor Lautner were already at least 18!!!).


Then again, here's a look at a very hungry Laurent (Edi Gathegi) getting anxious to sink his jaws into a scared and heartbroken Bella. And to think, he seemed like such a more self-controlled, peace-loving vampire in the first movie! Ha! That's a vampire for ya! Damn traitors...you can't trust them! (Go, Team Jacob!!! lol!)

New Moon Posters featuring the Wolf Pack

DeviantArt has a number of Twilight fans that created some pretty amazing fan art for the movie. I did a little research to see what other creative minds have made as far as New Moon poster ideas go. What I found pretty cool is the growing theme of Quileute Tribe - Wolf Pack movie posters and some surprisingly hot ones of Jacob Black (which make you really wonder what the heck does Bella want Edward's "cold" body for?!)

Interesting blend. However, I think the artist should've continued blending the wolf face a little further down...say maybe keep some fur down to the chin line at least. With the way it looks here, it kinda looks like an eyepatch, though it's still a pretty good, original piece to me.

This one uses the recently released group pic of the Pack, featuring buff and tan young men from La Push donning unique tribal tattoos. I wish I could see the design that was used for the tattoos a little closer. It would be interesting to look into the symbolism of the design. As far as the poster itself goes, it's great eye candy for the giddy girls.

This surprised me. I hope a teenager came up with the idea for this one. Otherwise, some adult is having some serious fantasies about a 17-year old boy. Just kidding, it's not that bad. You barely see his shoulder in the pic. Artistically speaking, however, this idea is pretty intriguing and if you didnt read the book, it may make you wonder if the movie is going to show a very dramatic shift of focus to Jacob's changing bod...he IS after all, going to become a fairly large, muscular werewolf.

Now this is what I meant by blending the faces more. Being a photoshop artist myself, I imagine that it might've been a little bit of a challenge to get the wolf's face to fit just right with Jacob's face. In doing so, I'm not really sure that's a wolf or a bear that was used in this blend. I don't want to spoil anything for those that didn't read the book, but there could be a good reason for the artist allowing this to look somewhat like a bear. You have to read the book to know what I'm referring to.

I saved the best one for last...teehee! This one really took me by surprise. Taylor Lautner really did buff up to make sure he could keep his role in the follow up movie to Twilight and this fan-made movie poster really does an excellent job of exploiting that. Kinda makes me hope that the producers actually use this one because boy, the artist did a really good job on this one.

Poor Bella - Torn Between Two Loves!

It think it's so cool what a lot of TWILIGHT fans have created and shared online. I found these two really cute depictions of a poor Bella Swan, torn between her two loves - Edward Cullen and Jacob Black. The second one's the first humorous one I found.

Twilight's Bella and Jacob fan art

I was browsing for pics on the Twilight movie stars when I came across some of these artworks of the book characters. I thought they were so cool that I decided to share them here. The first three are from Ainjeline Nadeen Shawn's Flickr page.

This shows an artist's visualization of a very youthful Bella and Jacob in Jacob's garage. You can read about that in New Moon (The Twilight Saga, Book 2).


This second one shows Jacob carving a bracelet charm for Bella...


There were frequent references to Jacob's growth spurts in the series. I guess this picture was supposed to depict that change.


I found this final picture in Hannah Carnero's Flickr page. I thought this one was extremely cute yet very touching, reminding me of the strange tenderness that Jacob (in his wolf form) managed to exhibit while he was with Bella.


Notice the size of the wolf compared to the girl in this piece? If you read New Moon or Eclipse, you'd know why he's so huge.
