First of all, I hope everyone had a safe New Year's Eve celebration and getting 2013 off to a good start. What a year we had in 2012, didn't we? The year was very full of activity for me outside of my "dreamz" blog which resulted in less frequent posts compared to previous years. (Sorry, fans - didn't mean to keep you hanging). But it's been great - and I'm very thankful to have the opportunities I've had to do the things I got to do in 2012, thankful for the people that have faith in my abilities, and thankful for the moral support I've received in the process. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Enough about me! The outlook for 2013 looks very exciting entertainment-wise. Man of Steel (starring Immortal's Henry Cavill as Superman) comes out in June. It's been a long time since anyone has dared to make another Superman movie that takes on a different look at the superhero most of us Generation X-ers have pretty much grew up knowing as best played by the late Christopher Reeve.
I viewed the movie trailer for it and I think it looks really promising. Not to mention, Henry Cavill has become really impressive with his dramatic acting abilities as we've seen him in 2011's Immortals, as Charles Brandon in The Tudors (2007-2010), and most recently in The Cold Light of Day. He's even being eyed by fans as a possible choice to play Christian Grey in The Fifty Shades of Grey movie (if that ever gets off the ground!).
Next, I've blogged about The Hunger Games Trilogy after reading it and I've blogged about the first movie, The Hunger Games starring Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth. If you haven't read the books or watched the first movie, you are missing out on one of the best youth-oriented dramas ever made. The cast members played their roles so convincingly well, you feel like you are drawn into the story. You feel their suffering and start to wonder how a once progressive society could become so divided and so become so devoid of humanism. And as a parent, you'd wonder how people could let this happen to their children year after year.
So you can imagine why I look forward to the second movie installment of the series, Catching Fire. Too bad we have to wait till close to the end of the year for it. But I suppose there's more going on behind the scenes in the making of the movie...which I am going to trust means that the wait is gonna be super worth it!!!

I saw the first Hunger Games movie and loved it enough to go read the book... now I've got to read the second and third books!

I never tire of the Superman movies. As a product of the late 50's I grew up with the orignial series and love to see all it's reincarnations. I just finished a book that talked about the original creator of Superman and why. Jeffery Siegal made a superhero that was bullet proof because his father was murdered when he was young. It was a really interesting story.

I don't know about this kind of movies. I loved them when I was young but now I go for the calmer stuff so I can sleep. LOL!
