Tears For Fears Returns

I didn't realize until today that an 80's era favorite of mine, Tears for Fears is hitting the road this summer.  They will be returning to New York to perform at Hammerstein Ballroom on Thursday, August 19th. Presale tickets will be made available on April 14th!

Tears for Fears, for those too young to remember, is a duo of Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith.  The songs they composed and played were of a synth-pop style and tackled rather ambitious topics.  Anyone remember "Everybody Wants to Rule The World" or "Shout"? You can listen to and download the mp3 for Everybody Wants to Rule The World at this LINK. It's only 128000 bit rate so if you want real audio quality, it's best to purchase or download the album. I still have my original CDs to rock to!

It's been a long time since we've heard anything from this duo.  Sure, they've both been working on solo projects...but the music they made together became part of our culture and gave us somewhat of an anthem for those who needed to release tense emotions through mainstream music.  I'm anxious to find out if they've got some new music planned.

I loved the 80s music. I was a big fan of funk back then.

Roger Trautman. Gap Band. George Clinton.

But also liked The Police. The Cars. Boston.

Happy Friday.
