Two Things You Didn't Know About Liggy

David Cassidy
Did you know that I was just an elementary school girl with a huge crush on David Cassidy in the late 1970s when The Partridge Family reruns were still being aired? I didn't even know I was only watching reruns back then. All I knew is I still saw lots of David Cassidy pictures appearing on the cover of the supermarket tabloids and teen magazines. And he had the cutest, most adorable smile!

The Partridge Family
One of the things I really, really loved about that time was all the fun music you could sing along to (or drool to while watching David Cassidy close ups on TV - LOL!). In fact, I can easily remember the beat of the songs performed on the show. I think I might even be able to pass a quiz for matching the songs to the episodes if I can even come across such a quiz.

If you follow this blog and know I love hard rock and heavy metal, you might even find it surprising that I actually have a favorite song from The Partridge Family show. Can you guess what it is? It's the song "I Think I Love You." That song was number one on Billboard's Top Singles chart in 1970...and it was still a big radio favorite by the time I was in elementary school! Imagine that! Listen to the song in the player below.

I really love that song! You could probably say it's one of my favorites of all time. It's one of those songs that when it comes up on the radio or the track comes on from one of my old Billboard Hits CD collection, I have to stop and listen. Does anyone else ever get that way about an old song?

I STILL have a huge crush on DAVID! I had posters of him all over my room.

Although, I was a bit turned off when I saw clip of a concert with him and he had on flesh colored gloves so that when he shook hands with his fans he would not have to touch them skin to skin. I am not sure if it was a germaphobe thing but it seemed like he just didn't want to come in contact with them...

HAHA! Liggy, I had no idea you were such a mushy person over David Cassidy! It was very different listening to that song on your site, quite the contrast to your usual music...

I can say that there are a few songs that I have to stop and listen to when they come on:

Beautiful People - Marilyn Manson
Cocky - Kid Rock
Man in the Box - Alice in Chains

and my mushy song... Whiskey Lullaby (not sure who sings that one but it's beautiful)

David Cassidy! Who'd have thunk. And you've read enough of my posts to know that I definitely get "that way" about old songs (though my old songs make yours look like youngsters). Nice post.

What a shock! I had no idea that those Partridge Family episodes we used to watch back then were re-runs! Even more shocking is finding out you used to (or still do?) have a crush on David Cassidy! All these years, and I never knew! I wonder what else I will discover about you from reading your blog?! Ha ha ha. :)

Anyway, to answer your question about feeling excited about certain songs, the only artist whose music makes me feel giddy is Jakob Dylan. He's been my favorite singer since the '90s when his band, The Wallflowers, were pretty hot. He is a solo artist now and has a second solo album coming out in April. I know his music is not really your style, but I absolutely adored his debut solo album, and now I'm very much looking forward to his new one!
