Ten Great Roadrunner Guitarists

Roadrunner Records released their pick of Ten Great Roadrunner Guitarists and guess which of my faves made the list?  Mark DiVito of Vanquish?  Yeah, I wish...

Seriously though, Dave Mustaine of Megadeth made the list.  With two albums (United Abominations and Endgame) to boot for RR Records, Dave keeps turning tricks on those strings like only one of the most talented guitarists in the world can do.  Check out the rest of the list at the Roadrunner Records website.  I'm sure you metalheads out there will find one of your faves on that list!

Like Megadeth?

Endgame

Did you know that Megadeth is touring this year? Actually they started their tour in 2009, after the release of their latest album, Endgame. Also touring with them are the well-known, legendary thrash metal sounds of Testament and Exodus. I happened to check the updates to their schedule recently on the RoadRunner records site (of which I am signed up as a scout) and found out that they are coming to the NorVa, which is only about a 45-minute drive from where I live. How exciting! To find out if they're coming to your town, visit Megadeth's profile on the RoadRunner Records website.

Oh I also found something really cool while I was surfing the web for more Megadeth news. I found this free downloadable desktop wallpaper:

I'll leave you with the first track released off the 2009 Endgame album. It was offered as a free download for 24 hours back in July. I was one of the lucky ones who was able to get a copy. So just in case you're missing out on Megadeth's latest album, check this out then go buy the album (it's only $7.99 for a digital download through Amazon) or get tickets and see them LIVE!!! Either way, you won't regret it. Megadeth Rules!

Dommin

Have you heard Dommin yet? I recommend that you do so now so you don't miss out. This Los Angeles-based goth rock quartet was signed on to RoadRunner Records in 2008 and recorded an album, Love Is Gone. The album is currently available only as a pre-order at this time, but you can download their first single from the album, My Heart, Your Hands through Napster, iTunes, and Amazon.

Or, you could go to RoadRunner Records' website and sign up to be a member. When you do, you get a free album download. Unless they've changed it since I joined, you get to choose one Metal or one Rock compilation album FREE just for joining. If you select the Rock Album, you'll get "Between a Rock and a Hard Place" which includes Dommin's new single. That should tide you over until the full-length album is out.

I predict Dommin is going to make it bigger than they ever imagined. With the hauntingly deep melodic voice of Kristofer Dommin (the lead singer) who can make the pain of heartbreak feel like a numbing drug and the combination of heavy guitars and keyboards to induce you further into that spiral, Dommin's music can move and capture the attention of every person that has ever felt an emotion that wanted to break free out of its mold.

Check out the full-length video of My Heart, Your Hands on the band's YouTube channel. You may also be able to check out the band on the Warped Tour (with Lacuna Coil, Kill Hannah, and Seventh Void) in a city near you. Just visit Dommin's Official Myspace Page for their schedule.

DevilDriver

This was my first time to check out the band's music and I thought it was pretty good (and you'd agree, too, if you appreciate heavy metal music like I do). For more DevilDriver music, visit their Official Website.

And please don't forget to visit my metal news source at:
