A look at Salt (the movie)

 
I borrowed the Salt movie DVD from my sister recently and had to watch it twice this week.  Yes, I thought it was THAT good!  I have always been a big fan of Angelina Jolie but her acting skills in this movie really blew me away.  In this film, she's like the female version of Jason Bourne of the Bourne Identity.  Truly awesome!

When I get home, I like to have fun...and sometimes having fun means taking a moment to escape from reality! Yeah, why not? With so much to do and so little time - you know, with me being an awesome mom and wife and all...

So when I finally get the chance to relax, I'll sit down at my computer desk and play some mp3s. Then that's when it's time to load up the Photoshop on my PC and dream. Tee-hee! Here are some "mementos" of past " dream getaways."

Yeah, can you just picture me and Nicolas Cage a few years ago? Only Photoshop can make your dreams come to life in a photograph!


Now this would have made the news, too! Me and Sarah Jessica Parker out with the most eligible bachelor of the time...


Or what if I had Selma Hayek's sexy body and got to be with pre-Hulk Ed Norton? Hmmm...


Perhaps the best fantasy of all is being the star of a big blockbuster movie like Tomb Raider. Yeah! Picture me as Lara Croft! Move over Angelina Jolie cause here comes Liggy!!!

Angelina Jolie Quotes

I admire Angelina Jolie. She literally grew up in the public eye. She's gone through her good times and bad times before our eyes. But she is one grown up beauty who learned from all her experiences and does not regret one bit of anything she has done (other than perhaps the Billy Bob tattoo which she later had removed and covered up).

I mean, we all "go through phases" ourselves, but getting out of the disastrous phases and not repeating them takes a great sense of intelligence and maturity. Angelina possesses just that. So I made some little digital cards bearing her image and quote. Feel free to use these if you like them.

Is Megan Fox really the next Lara Croft?

I can't find confirmation of the news anywhere but the rumor mill has it that Megan Fox is slated to play Lara Croft in the next Tomb Raider movie. Does anyone know for sure?

The Tomb Raider Channel reports that the Top Ten choices for the role of Lara Croft are:

Jessica Stroup of 90210 (TV).
Megan Fox (best known for her role in the Transformers movies)
Jessica Szohr from Gossip Girl (TV)
Erica Durance of Smallville (TV)
Alison Carroll a professional model
Rhona Mitrawho recently starred in Underworld: Rise of the Lycans
Charlize Theron who's got some action experience in her acting resume
Olivia Wilde of House, M.D.(TV).
Eliza Dushkuof Dollhouse (TV)
Ashley Greene best known as Alice Cullen in the Twilight movie

Considering the fact that the third Tomb Raider movie is going to be what they call "an origins reboot," taking place before Lara Croft's races against villains and time in a quest to recover ancient artifacts began in the first two movies, I think some of these popular choices are a little too old for the role. What do you think?

Angelina Jolie's Dress Reversal

I was reading today a Yahoo! Movies blog post about the Max Azria gown Angelina Jolie wore to the Screen Actors Guild Awards. The writer wondered if Jolie knew she was wearing the gown backwards. I wanted to add my comment on the writer's page but with over 9400 comments already posted, I didn't think another comment from me would even get noticed so why bother?

Here's the comparison picture the writer posted to show the gown and how it supposedly was designed to be worn:

Frankly, I don't actually see the resemblances between the two gowns but I don't follow fashion designers or designer wear so I can't say much about that. But as far as how that blue gown was worn, I actually don't think Angie made any mistake at all in wearing it that way. Had she worn it the way the fashion model was wearing it, Angie would not have been able to show off her tattoos. (On a side note, anyone who has ever gotten a tattoo knows that tattoos are meant to be seen, not hidden...like art, it's a form of expression). In contrast, who would've wanted to see her show more chest like Jennifer Lopez did when she so famously wore that green gown to the Grammy Awards years ago anyway? (See J-Lo's image below). Where would the originality come with doing that? Angie is unique and her fans love that she is who is.


By wearing that gown in reverse, Angelina Jolie obviously wanted to make her tattoos visible. I think that's so because she even wore her hair up instead of flowing down freely like she has been doing when she's all covered up in long sleeves and such. Perhaps she wanted to make a statement with her KNOW YOUR RIGHTS tattoo which is inked right below the back of her neck. (See close up below, taken from another outing).


Whatever the reason behind the so-called "dress reversal," I think Angelina Jolie wore that gown quite well. She looked very elegant, maybe not demure because of her tattoos, but she did look very feminine and radiant. And yes...I am an Angelina Jolie fan.
