When I first heard Christina Perri's "Jar of Hearts", I thought of Alanis Morissette because it was so edgy, defiant, and vocal about the pain felt in the heartbreaking relationship. It reminded me of "You Oughtta Know" in that the lyrics were quite angrily directed at an ex-lover who caused pain by obviously leaving them for another woman. However, there is one marked difference in the two songs. In Alanis Morissette's song, she sticks around and wants to be sure the ex is constantly reminded of the pain he caused her; whereas, in Christina Perri's song, she just "begs" him to stay out of her life.
Dis you listen to it? Touching, isn't it? Perhaps now you should go check out her official music video on YouTube.

I agree. The sound is very similar. I loved Alanis Morissette. I am going to download some of Christina's music. I think I may have found a new fave artist
I've been listening to Christina Perri's Jar of Hearts on Youtube. She's a great artist! She also has other songs to enjoy listening into like "I Will", "I'm Yours" and "Crying". Her songs kinda describe some bitterness about love life but it's great to hear. No doubt she can be like Alanis Morissette.
Maybe Christina will last longer than Alanis. She seemed to disappear after a few years. I know she is still around, but I haven't heard much from her in the past 8-10 years
Hopefully Christina will last longer than Alanis, too...I've downloaded her EP and found her other songs very enjoyable. You can't really get tired of her. From what I've read about her biography, she deserves the big break. She has worked hard and patiently to get this far in her musical career. But her music is very mainstream so it's not like she can only reach a small genre of music lovers.
