So I heard that Miley Cyrus claims she knows exactly what she's doing and has full control of herself, including her use of weed. Now, I'm not going to get into the debate about weed use and all that. My blog is about celebrities, art, and music, after all...
I will admit that I have listened to and enjoy some of Miley Cyrus' music. And while I don't particularly care for her movies, I did think that her Hannah Montana Movie was pretty good and decent entertainment for young people. I also thought the soundtrack for the film was enjoyable, especially the song The Climb. That's one very inspiring tune!

To Tweet or Not To Tweet
Okay, my first thought this Tuesday is not just a thought but a gripe! I just don't get it. Why do former child stars find it necessary to pose half-naked for the world to prove they are not children anymore? Do they think we're such a stupid society that we can't tell a grown up from a child in other ways than seeing their private body parts?

Two Thoughts Tuesday
My first thought this Tuesday is what an great-looking kid Channing Tatum and his wife, Jenna Dewan-Tatum are going to have! Did you hear the news? Yes, People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive is gonna be the Sexiest Daddy, too!
Speaking of having children, I hope it'll be a long while before this young star decides to have children.

Two Short Thoughts for Tuesday
I just have a few short thoughts to share this Tuesday. Speaking of short, Miley Cyrus got a haircut - a really short one, too! You know, with the picture she tweeted (that one above), she actually looks kinda cute with it, I think. That fun, pixie cut just radiates her youthfulness and cheerful personality. I remember doing something like that with my hair when I was her age. I don't think I looked quite as good with it, though.

Miley's Vanity Fair pose - artistic or not?
Teenagers...yes, they will always do the most shocking things and then claim naivete for doing them. But I can't argue about that. I was once a teenager myself. And I, too, kept wanting to "defy" the norms I was brought up to know and was told to follow. So when I read about these teenaged celebrities creating headlines for rebellious acts or anything that causes controversy, I normally don't get surprised.
Recently, Miley Cyrus, who gained popularity among youngsters for her role as a Disney figure "Hannah Montana", posed for some rather provocative pictures for Vanity Fair Magazine. Curiosity got the better of me and I decided to find out for myself what this hoopla was all about.

In my opinion, the shot does have artistic merits. The photographer Annie Leibovitz captured a really beautiful pose on film. It exudes a sense of femininity and youthful innocence. But speaking like a parent of a young girl, myself, I agree with the outraged parents that Miley's pose is very inappropriate for a person her age. There's a hint of sexuality in the pose that reminds me of Brooke Shields's "Pretty Baby" images. I think I've watched enough Law and Order: Special Victims Unit episodes to know that these are the kind of pictures that feed the perverted minds of pedophiles. When you think about that, the pose and the photograph start to lose its artistic appeal.
