Two Men We Love From The 1980s

Let's jump back in time to 21 Jump Street and remember the rising young actor that made our young hearts swoon and filled our dreams with endless romance...yeah, Johnny Depp!  Even though he made his film debut in 1984 in the movie "A Nightmare on Elm Street" he didn't really rise to stardom until he got the role of undercover cop Tommy Hanson in the TV series "21 Jump Street". 

Since then, we've watched him mature onscreen - in movies, on TV, onstage (remember he was the guitarist in a band called The Kids, plays in a band called 'P', and has twice recorded with British band Oasis?).   We've watched him play the oddest and creepiest characters on film as well as memorable (and notable) roles such as Willy Wonka in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and Captain Jack Sparrow in "The Pirates of the Caribbean" movies.  Check out his profile on the IMDb to see his complete filmography.  He's been a busy man over the years!

And such luck he has that he can still look so suave and attractive in his 40s even with that wind-blown long hair!  (sigh!)

And remember this guy?  So he may not have looked much like a future Dr. McDreamy back in the 80s but Patrick Dempsey sure has kept us entertained over the years as we watched him develop his masculinity and sex appeal. He has definitely gotten better looking with age!

Patrick Dempsey wowed audiences with his acting skills as a teen through stage performances, winning praise for roles in stage productions of "On Golden Pond", "Torch Song Trilogy", and "Brighton Beach Memoirs".  It wasn't until the mid-1980s that we saw him on film in comedic roles.  My favorite of his silly roles was in Loverboy where he played Randy Bodek, a pizza delivery boy who treats his female customers "extra special".  That was one hilarious movie I could watch again and again!!!

These days, Patrick Dempsey is much more than a romantic hunk on TV and movies (like Enchanted in 2007 and Made of Honor in 2008), he's also developed a sexy men's fragrance for AVON called "Unscripted".  You can betcha I got some of that for my hubby...now I can imagine he's Patrick Dempsey every time I smell that scent on him (ooh la la!).
